The memoirs "The Path of a Russian Officer" – one of the best books by A.I. Denikin, who had a remarkable command of words.
In his youth, he worked in journalism, writing articles about the Russian military life in peacetime, and... later about the episodes of the wars in which he took part.

But the main significance of the memoirs lies in the fact that they became the prehistory to his "Essays on the Russian Troubles," dedicated to the Civil War.
A. I. Denikin did not manage to finish his autobiographical book – it was cut off in mid-sentence and published only after his death.
