Night Scandal

On a winter evening in bad weather, Matthew, the Earl of Whittingham, reaches Leighton House after a long journey from London at the invitation of a respected scholar. He wanted to personally discuss with his colleague and hear how he... could explain a recently published article in a journal that stirred the scientific community. But at the estate, Matthew meets the beautiful Theodosia Leighton — the lady was raised by her scholarly grandfather and lived with him in the rural wilderness her whole life, dedicating herself to books and scientific experiments. It was she who sent the article to the journal, signing her grandfather's name, and now she regrets it. Matthew quickly exposes the girl — and soon realizes that she arouses in him a strong interest.
