Calendar Traditions of the Russian People

The book "Calendar Traditions of the Russian People" is intended for a wide audience interested in Russian culture, which has come to us from the depths of the centuries. In twelve parts — corresponding to the number of months in the year — it tells how ordinary Russian people perceived the world around them, how they worked at home and on the land, what they loved, what they struggled with, and what they believed in. The book is based on the idea of the ritualistic nature of our ancestors' lives and the unique symbolism of their thinking. Key events of each of the twelve months and interesting omens have been selected and described in general. All this is complemented by thematic proverbs, lyrical reflections, and interesting encyclopedic facts that confirm or expand the main content of each part.
