At the center of the historical narrative of the book "The Glorious Rurikids" is the fate of a great princely dynasty: from its founder Rurik, invited to reign by Slavic tribes, to Yaroslav Vladimirovich (the Wise), who triumphed in the struggle for the princely throne over all his brothers. It describes important events that took place in Kievan Rus from approximately 862 to 1054.
The narrative is based on monuments of Old Russian writing, historical and other documents, and research.
The book provides many explanatory references to the main texts that contain clarifications and contentious viewpoints regarding various historical figures and events. The text part of the book is supplemented with reproductions of paintings by artists who addressed the theme of Ancient Rus.
