Galina Vishnevskaya and Mstislav Rostropovich. Concert for Voice and Cello

The journalist and television host Vadim Vernik had only a few meetings with Galina Vishnevskaya and Mstislav Rostropovich. But all of them are associated with very vivid and rich impressions. The basis of the book is memories of filming a... documentary dedicated to Vishnevskaya and Rostropovich. Vernik filmed interviews with the heroes in their Paris apartment, as well as at the Lyon Opera, where, at that time, in 1996, rehearsals for the opera "Galina" based on Vishnevskaya's autobiographical book were taking place. Moreover, the initiative for the shoot in Lyon came from Mstislav Rostropovich. The author's observations, including in situations hidden from prying eyes, are unexpected and paradoxical. Vadim Vernik's unique perspective is complemented by interviews with Boris Pokrovsky, Andrei Voznesensky, Yuri Bashmet, Makvala Kashrashvili, and Vladimir Vasilev.
