Visions lead Guts to Albion, where crowds of homeless wanderers flock, driven by plague and hunger. Having lost Casca, he hopes to find her in this sea of humanity, but the Skull Knight warns him that everything has long been... predetermined, and the birth of the greatest evil can no longer be prevented. The bleak, desolate lands near the Tower of Conviction are full of "heretics", and the Holy See sends an inquisitor there, ready to destroy anyone who doubts the word of God.
