In a small town beyond the Ural Mountains lived a simple guy named Rinat Gildeev. He lived by his conscience: he served in the army, returned to civilian life, started working as a driver, and married a beautiful fiancée. But his quiet life came to an end once and for all: drunk Rinat knocked down four women with his old truck. And now the whole town considers him guilty and craves just punishment.
The defense of murderers is not part of the life rules of Moscow lawyer Olga Shemetova. However, upon studying the details of Gildeev's case, she realizes that perhaps he did not commit this terrible crime but simply found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.
To uncover the truth, Shemetova must endure the resistance of the town's residents and authorities, but she is not one to back down in the face of difficulties. After all, this is her calling – to save the innocent and expose the real criminals.
