Soul of Darkness

A gloomy orphanage on the outskirts of London brings more reasons for sadness than for joy. I have grown accustomed to going through life alone, despite the sideways glances and whispers behind my back. No one has ever managed to... grasp the depths of my soul and figure out how I instill fear in the hearts of people. And they will not know, for that is my greatest secret... But everything changes when Alicia appears at the doorstep of the orphanage. She is not welcomed here, but the girl is not going to give up. I let no one close to me, but it seems my coldness does not frighten her. In trying to break through the wall of indifference, she risks confronting the darkness that I hide within. But perhaps there is much more in common between us than we thought? Will Alicia be able to accept my essence, or will she only push it away?
