The Heat of Being

The book of selected poems by the poet and artist Elena Alexandrovna represents a "squeezed out" selection from her entire body of work over three decades. A poet, if we are to believe Boris Pasternak, always speaks only about one... thing — about Life and Death.
This is true for the work of Elena Alexandrovna, but with the caveat that she is a woman, and the main conversation, whether she writes about life or death, is still primarily about Love. About love for a man, children, parents, the land of her birth, and all the countless "faces of creation." About love that is happy and difficult, brilliant and desperate.
