Hat. Ivanykiada

For eighteen years Efim Rahlin has been a member of the Writers' Union. During this time, he has written eleven books — adventure novels about "good people": volcanologists, climbers, and polar explorers. His books have been adapted into plays and... films. One day, Efim learns that by the decision of the leadership of Litfond, winter fur hats are distributed to writers according to an unofficial ranking: outstanding writers receive sable hats, while everyone else gets lesser ones. However, when Rahlin goes to collect his hat, he ends up with an item made of "domestic cat of medium fluffiness." Realizing that the leadership does not consider him a real writer at all, Efim decides to seek justice at any cost. This edition also includes the satirical short story "Ivanykiada, or the Story of Writer Voinovich Moving into a New Apartment."
