General K. Sakharov graduated from the Orenburg Cadet Corps, the Nikolaev Engineering School, and the General Staff Academy. A holder of the Order of St. George, he participated in the Russo-Japanese and World War I. He was arrested twice: the...
first time for participating in the Kornilov mutiny; the second time for attempting to join the Volunteer Army. After the second arrest, he escaped. In the White movement, he made a brilliant career, culminating in the rank of lieutenant general and the position of commander of the Eastern Front. However, the attitude of the generals of White Siberia toward Sakharov was rather critical. He was even considered one of the main culprits for the defeats on the front.
K. Sakharov described the events in eastern Russia from the autumn of 1918 to the spring of 1920. Everything he described is the result of personal experience.
