The collection of stories by Franz Hohler consists of eleven tales. Most of them are dedicated to elderly people trying to adapt to a rapidly changing world, with luck and the author's ingenuity often coming to their aid. There are... also stories that refer to classical German and world literature. Unexpected plot twists, literary play, and the author's broad erudition — all of this is unlikely to leave the reader indifferent. Franz Hohler (b. 1943) is a living classic of Swiss literature, a writer, playwright, cabaret artist, and songwriter, winner of numerous literary and artistic awards in Switzerland and Germany, an honorary doctor of the University of Fribourg, and a member of the Swiss Society of Writers and the International PEN Club.
