Princess Olga Paley, the morganatic wife of Grand Duke Pavel Alexandrovich, son of Alexander II, describes the horrifying events experienced by her family after the revolution in her memoirs. In 1918, the Bolsheviks arrested the Grand Duke and then his son. They were destined for a heavy fate. Olga desperately fought for her husband and son, hoping to save them, but she fruitlessly knocked on the doors of the officials. When everything was lost in Russia, the princess fled abroad and reunited with her daughters. In exile, Paley wrote memoirs full of pain and hatred for the new power in Russia.
