Means of Grief

Journalist Cody Delistrati struggled for years to come to terms with his mother's death. In this book, he shares his own experience of battling grief and sorrow. In an attempt to break free from this state, he thoroughly examined the history of grief as a psychological and sociocultural phenomenon and resorted to various existing methods — from psychotropic substances to laughter therapy. His personal story serves as the foundation upon which the scientific part of the book is built: an exploration of different types of grief reactions, the history of changing medical classifications, and the treatment of related disorders.
