Blitz Concert in Chelsea

1939 year. London is restless — Great Britain has declared war on Nazi Germany, whose troops are rampaging across Europe. The capital is overflowing with refugees; in anticipation of raids and shelling, Londoners are signing up as volunteers, participating in training for clearing future debris and evacuating civilians.
Young artist Frances Faviell is returning to the capital from a journey through the British colonies, where she had been earning well by painting portraits of Indian rajahs, and at first she is both amused and irritated by the seemingly pointless hustle and bustle of London. However, when the Nazis, as part of the "Blitz" operation, begin massive bombings of London, the jokes come to an end… Now Frances records on paper the raids, destruction, and human suffering…
