Unsuccessful Breastfeeding

The book presents the experience of hundreds of mothers, including interviews with specialists working with mothers and with the women themselves, which is analyzed using data from neurobiology, somatic therapy, mindfulness practices, and hypnotherapy.
The author places great importance on the emotional reactions of mothers to problems with breastfeeding, noting an increased risk of postpartum depression in such women and the loss of connection between mother and baby in such cases. The book shows that the trauma from unsuccessful breastfeeding can be healed when mothers acknowledge it and receive support, including through some processes from neurobiology that allow the brain to heal.

Hillary Jacobson is the mother of four children, a certified lactation consultant, and a certified hypnotherapist specializing in nutrition, medical support, psychological assistance for trauma and experiences, and mindfulness practices. She works with women using her three-stage method for healing painful emotions: sadness, loss, and isolation, applying methods of talk therapy, relaxation, and others.
