This self-study guide is intended for those who are learning the Hindi language independently. It helps to develop speech skills necessary for communication and reading simple literature, and to master the basics of grammar: the lessons of the self-study guide... introduce both grammatical features of the language and commonly used conversational vocabulary. Mastering it allows one to navigate any situation when directly communicating with the inhabitants of India. For quick memorization of common speech constructions, carefully read the selections with lexical material, which is accompanied by transliteration (thematic list is provided in the table of contents). In each lesson of the self-study guide, you will find descriptions of lexical-grammatical categories of all parts of speech, exercises for memorizing the studied material, and texts using active speech structures. To check the completed exercises, lesson keys are provided at the end of the book. The lessons of the self-study guide are supplemented with a dictionary that can be used to translate unfamiliar words that appear in the exercises. The book also contains geographic information, which will undoubtedly be useful during your travels in India.
