Verbalism at Interrogation. Investigative Cases of Soviet Writers and Journalists of the 1920s-1930s

This book presents and analyzes the criminal cases of Soviet writers and journalists: N.R. Erdman, V.Z. Massa, Emil Krotky (E.Ya. German), M.D. Volpin, M.A. Glushkov, A.S. Bukhov, and A.N. Garri, as well as materials from the party investigation regarding the activities of poet V.I. Narbut. The published documents are stored in the Central Archive of the FSB of Russia and the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History. These materials are examined in a historical and literary context, analyzing the intrigues that led to the arrest and conviction of each participant.
