Probably, no science studied in school is as disappointing as geography. Students expect fascinating stories about travels. Because geographers do nothing but travel. And where there are travels, there are adventures… How can there be no adventures? The author wants to immediately and with all his inherent frankness to warn readers that this book is completely unsuitable for passing geography exams. And it is impossible to become the Chief Geographer of Modernity after reading it. The book has somewhat different tasks – to befriend readers with geography, to help understand the intricacies of this science, to teach how to look at our planet through the eyes of an informed person.
