One Story

"One Story" is two stories. The first is the story of Silvano Landi, a writer who discovers on the threshold of fifty that his life has fallen apart. The second is the story of his great-grandfather Mauro, a soldier in... the trenches of World War I. Under the same magnificent and ruthless skies, Gipi unfolds a tale of beauty and fragility, of human tears and hope. A story of falling into the abyss and how, time and again, despite everything, one can rise from it. Gipi (Gian-Alfonso Pacinotti) was born in Pisa in 1963. His graphic novels have won numerous awards, including prizes at the comic festivals in Angoulême, Lucca, and Erlangen. Released in 2013, "One Story" was the first graphic novel to make the shortlist for the prestigious Italian literary prize "Strega" - sparking heated debates about the boundaries of literature.
