A new book of journalism: about society and culture, about family and children, about the path traveled by Zakhar Prilepin - prose writer, journalist, musician, holder of the "Big Book", "National Bestseller" and "Yasnaya Polyana" awards. Author of the novels "Abode", "Sankya", "Pathologies", "Black Monkey", collections of stories "Eights", "Sin", "Boots Full of Hot Vodka" and "Seven Lives", collections of journalism "Peresvet is Coming to Us", "Flying Burlaks", "Not a Foreign Unrest", "Everything That Must Be Resolved. Letters from Donbas", "Platoon".
"This book is mostly about me.
In recent years, a certain genre of conversation and, moreover, conflict has emerged, - its form: questions without answers. Questions in the form of assertions. For example: who are you? What can you know? Where have you been? What have you seen?
Sometimes various idle people ask me these questions. It’s time to answer them in detail.
Who am I? What do I know? Where have I been? What have I seen?
Like in that forgotten children’s book that I read to my children.
Also here about children too. And about other relatives.
About how I feel about the most important things. And what things I consider the most important. And about how small I am against the backdrop of these things.
In the end, a book that seems to be about me is, in fact, about anything but me. About the Motherland. About revolution. About literature. About what causes me pain. About what brings me joy.
In general, let’s get acquainted. I also have questions for you. I will ask them in this book".
