France. The second half of the 15th century. The time of the reign of King Louis XI. A spy working abroad dies and ends up in the body of a young man. Waking up on the riverbank, wounded and stripped to the bone, the hero remembers nothing from the past life of the body’s owner. By chance, he encounters the executioner of the city of Tours, the capital of France at that time, and in order to survive, he has to become his apprentice. The hope that someone might recognize him unexpectedly comes true, and the hero returns to his former place of service... as a royal spy. Now he is in for adventures and court intrigues, conspiracies and traps, slander and hired assassins.
