This book consists of conversations by Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh (1914-2003), which took place in 1982 at the University of Kent as part of readings dedicated to the memory of the Christian poet Thomas Eliot. The bishop speaks about beauty... and creativity, about images and reality, about ugliness and deformity. This material is unique — it has never been fully published in Russia, and in practically none of the numerous conversations by Metropolitan Anthony is there such a wide reference to poetry and visual art. Despite the seemingly distant topic from theology, the bishop fills it with the deepest theological content.
