Evil spirit of Yambuya. The Last Bonfire

Grigory Anisimovich Fedoseev (1899–1968) wrote about the Far Eastern regions adjacent to the Sea of ​​Okhotsk with full knowledge of the matter: he himself worked there for many years on geodetic expeditions, which gradually filled in the blank spots on... the map of the Soviet Union. In the taiga or swampy tundra you cannot work and live half-heartedly, because harsh nature does not forgive mistakes and weaknesses. The Evenks - the indigenous inhabitants of these lands - know how to survive, how to avoid the wrath of the merciless spirit of Kharga. However, the newcomers, members of the expedition, pose the question differently: is it possible to defeat Khargi and force him to surrender? The book includes the stories “The Evil Spirit of Yambuya” (1966) and “The Last Fire” (1968). The film “The Evil Spirit of Yambuya” became the leader of the Soviet film distribution in 1978 and received the Jack London Award at the international film festival of films about the Arctic in Dieppe (France).
