Autumn of 1829, Smolensk province. The local landowner Prince Seversky is having a wedding! A hospitable house, a festive table, a colorful fireworks display – seemingly, nothing foreshadows trouble. But fate has other plans… The morning after the lavish celebration, the prince is found dead in his bed, but not with the bride, rather with his mistress Nastya! The main theory of death is carbon monoxide poisoning. A whole estate of voluntary "detectives" gathers: they trip over each other's feet and hinder every step.
