Post-capitalist Desire

The collection of the final series of lectures by the British philosopher, cultural theorist, publisher, and activist Mark Fisher (1968-2017), delivered at Goldsmiths, University of London, in 2016. Starting with the most fundamental of questions, "Do we really want what... we say we want?" Fisher explores the relationship between desire and capitalism and attempts to understand what new forms of desire we could still extract from the past, present, and future. From the rise and fall of counterculture in the 1970s to the further development of his left accelerationist line of thought, this book represents a tragically interrupted course of reflections on nurturing a new type of consciousness and its cultural consequences.
