This collection includes plays that vividly reflect Japan today — works by five Japanese playwrights, known both in Japan and beyond, who are the inspirers and driving force of a new generation; Due to the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus... infection, the world found itself in an unprecedented situation where theatrical activities were completely halted. Actors and theater workers lost their performance venues, while audiences lost the opportunity to freely attend the theater. The publication of this collection reflects our hope that when the situation with the coronavirus calms down, and theaters regain their former vibrancy, the works presented in this book will awaken thoughts and emotions in readers and can be performed on stage, in the form of readings or theatrical productions.
