This self-study guide is designed for those who study the Arabic language independently. It allows you to develop speech skills necessary for communication and reading simple literature, and to master the basics of grammar: the self-study lessons introduce both the grammatical features of the language and commonly used conversational vocabulary. Having mastered it, you can easily handle any situation during direct communication with residents of Arab countries. For quick memorization of common speech constructions, carefully read the selections with lexical material, which is accompanied by transliteration (the thematic list is provided in the table of contents).
In each lesson of the self-study guide, you will find descriptions of lexical and grammatical categories of all parts of speech, exercises for memorizing the studied material, and texts using active speech structures. To check the completed exercises, lesson keys are provided at the end of the book. The lessons of the self-study guide are supplemented with a dictionary that can be used to translate unfamiliar words encountered in the exercises. The book also contains information of a geographical nature, which will undoubtedly be useful during travels in Arab countries.
