Game theory is a relatively young mathematical method that emerged in the 1940s. However, various patterns in the relationships of parties fighting for their interests have certainly been noted by researchers much earlier. The authors of game theory translated what was known to psychologists, economists, and simply thoughtful people into the language of mathematics. Gradually, game theory became interdisciplinary. Undoubtedly, it can (and should!) be applied in everyday life. We do apply it—often intuitively. But if you familiarize yourself with the theory itself, you can learn a lot about how to defend your interests, establish mutually beneficial partnerships, and avoid conflict situations... Paradoxically, but true: even a loss can become the basis for success!
