The game "Munchkin" is a localization of the tabletop card game Munchkin. In Russian, the game, no matter how you try, acquires a new sound but remains still thrilling, dynamic, and schadenfreude-filled. Role-playing banter on simple yet deliberately blurry rules mocks noble elves, wise magicians, brave warriors, and hairy-footed halflings. Clerics battle with the undead, thieves cut down their opponents in the heat of battle, giant Calamarkells and nasty Face-suckers strive to poison or take the heroic lives of your munchkins, but in a relaxed manner, without lengthy speeches and numerous throws of diverse dice accepted in D&D, GURPS, and other equal lofts.So, the board game "Munchkin" is a role-playing game in form, a parody in content. The players' munchkins wander through the dungeon, bringing to light its monstrous inhabitants and either regretting it or gaining new levels and treasures for their victories. The outcome of each such adventure (battle, in short) depends on who came to the fight with what. For the player, it's their level and bonuses/penalties from gear, class, race, and curses. For the monster, it's their level plus enhancement cards and one-time gear. Where does the monster get gear? In your battle, envious opponents can join the fray: they can help the monster and weaken you. Therefore, while "Munchkin" can be played with just two people, gather a larger crowd for the match: there will be more curses, enhancers, and potions on hand, which can easily shift the balance of power in battle in any direction, and vigilant envious ones won’t let anyone of you become the sole leader in the race to the 10th victory level.When created, the board game "Munchkin" was aimed at a youth audience familiar with role-playing games. Nevertheless, anyone of any age, except for very young children, can play the game, in which some of Steve Jackson's jokes might seem overly salty. But it’s a fantasy adventure with brave/feminine heroes, incredible situations, indescribably creepy indescribable monsters, and huge treasure hoards will please anyone with a broad outlook and a healthy sense of humor.
How to play?
At the start of the game, players begin as ordinary people of their gender (yes, yes, there is even a gender distinction in the game!) at level one. On your turn, you kick open a door, meaning you flip the top card from the door deck and follow the instructions written on the card. If it’s a monster card, then you’re out of luck and will have to engage it in battle. When the player's strength is greater than or equal to the monster's strength, the player wins and may take as many treasure cards as are indicated on the monster card. During the battle, other players may assist their comrade and join them in the fight or hinder them and bolster the emerging enemy in every way possible. If the player wins, they gain one level. Throughout the game, players will adopt various classes and professions, change their genders, don different gear, drink suspicious potions, and battle an array of monsters!

The main feature of the board game "Munchkin" is its diversity. You can encounter a wide variety of "Munchkin" settings, and all of them can, and should, be mixed together! Learn new fighting skills, try on a pirate eyepatch, embark on a space journey – your games will become more diverse and interesting, and you will encounter unexpected monsters along the way, but, of course, you will find ways to strike back!
