“Penguin Thieves” is a New Year’s tabletop game with elements of adventure, where the goal is to steal gifts from Santa Claus!Lay out the game board so that everyone can easily reach it. Take 10 gift tokens, shuffle them, and... place them face down in Santa Claus's house. Flip the remaining tokens face down, shuffle them, and place them in all the remaining cells of the game board. Lay out the task cards. Choose a penguin for yourself and take the corresponding card. Place the tokens on the penguin images on the board. Types of tokens: 1. Help tokens: sleeping Santa Claus - will make the penguin skip a turn; extra backpack - helps carry one more gift; extra turn. 2. Terrain tokens: They neither bring harm nor benefit, they remain where they were found. 3. Obstacle tokens: ice crack, seal, strong wind, orca. If you draw this token - draw a task card and complete it. After revealing, the obstacle token remains at the location where it was found. Characteristics of penguins: The number of flippers indicates the maximum number of steps in one turn. The number of backpacks indicates the maximum number of gifts the penguin can carry. An image in a red circle - an obstacle is considered impassable. The game begins! Players take turns. On the first turn, you can step on any cell in the first row. Afterwards, you must move in any direction to adjacent cells. Along the way, you may encounter terrain, help, or obstacle tokens: if a player lands on a hidden obstacle token that is impassable, they still complete the task from the card. However, a penguin cannot step on open tokens of impassable obstacles. After each turn, every player moves Santa Claus one step forward. The game ends when Santa Claus gets home, and it is considered lost if: one of the penguins is in the house; the team has stolen fewer than 5 gifts Number of players: 2-4
