Wormwood of Wandering

The story by Olga Rozhneva "Wormwood of Wandering" is dedicated to a broad period in world history - from 1904 to 1955. Together with the main character Rita, the reader will go through the crucible of trials and experience all that befell the White émigrés. The events of the book unfold against the backdrop of revolutions, world wars, the collapse of state regimes, and cultural clashes in the quiet Kuldja, the free Shanghai, the dangerous Philippine island of Tubabao, the unknown Paraguay, and the thriving Buenos Aires. Through disbelief and bitterness, a sense of revenge and hatred, the heroine will make a difficult journey toward self-discovery and forgiveness, for which St. John of Shanghai will be her faithful guide.
"I was fortunate to meet in America with the spiritual children of St. John of Shanghai, who underwent terrible trials and witnessed the most tragic cataclysms of the 20th century. Among them was Baroness Rida von Luelsdorf, whose memories inspired me to create this story," the author writes.
Olga Leonidovna Rozhneva is the author of many books beloved by readers. She is a laureate of the annual competition of the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church "Enlightenment through the Book" (2014). A philologist, an expert in the English language and Romance-Germanic philology, the writer found herself in the genre of Orthodox prose.
