The daughter of a royal colonel, Diana Bestuzheva, along with thousands of other emigrants from revolutionary Russia, finds herself in Constantinople, and then, together with her father, moves to the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes - to the ancient port city of Bakar, located deep in the picturesque Bakar Bay. But even here, Diana's wandering does not end - she is awaited by the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. Meanwhile, World War II begins, flooding the entire territory of Yugoslavia with blood. Unexpectedly for Diana, she establishes connections with communists and partisans from Tito's entourage, and later with Soviet intelligence. And Bestuzheva gets involved in underground work against the Germans, which becomes increasingly dangerous and delicate. Diana carries out special assignments from the command. Their goal is to bring victory over the fascists closer and to facilitate joint operations of the Yugoslav People's Liberation Army and Soviet troops.
