Memories. The Territory of Love

Irina Antonova is the legendary director of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin, where she worked for seventy-five years. A woman known all over the world. The painting exhibitions she held at the Museum became vibrant... cultural phenomena in Moscow. She was friends with presidents, politicians, and ambassadors from various countries, considering it a great honor for their states to present museum collections at the Moscow Pushkin Museum. In her book, she talks about her childhood, youth, wartime years, and encounters with famous people (including Marc Chagall, Ilya Ehrenburg, and A. Matisse's wife Lydia Delectorskaya) and about her service to great art. The book is organically complemented by photographs that reflect not only events from the author's life but also the cultural history of the country over the past sixty years. The new edition includes stories about the key exhibitions of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts — "Dior: Under the Sign of Art" and "Pallas and the Centaur".
