French philosopher and scientist Blaise Pascal was one of the founders of mathematical analysis and probability theory, as well as a brilliant writer. Being a deeply religious person, Pascal had a sharp analytical mind and was a supporter of the Jansenism movement in Catholicism. His constant reflections on religious issues led him to create numerous fragments of a work that later became known as "Thoughts." This work became a classic of French literature.
