Capital: Critique of Political Economy. Volume 3

The publication of the third volume completes the release of "Capital" by Karl Marx. In it, the reader will find discussions of issues relevant to modern science: the theory of production prices, rent and profit, concepts of markets and crises... under capitalism, the formulation and justification of the law of the tendency of the rate of profit to fall, and a number of interesting observations by Marx on capitalist competition. The publication process took into account the experience of both classical Soviet editions and the latest German edition within the framework of the international MEGA project. 

The text of Volume III is published with an updated translation of several passages and comments, purified from the biased assessments of previous years. An appendix includes fragments from "Theories of Surplus Value" dedicated to the analysis of the theories of rent and production costs by D. Ricardo, as well as a relevant segment of the chapter on capital from "Grundrisse" concerning the issues of Volume III. 

The text of Volume III is accompanied by double pagination in the margins, as well as a revised index of names based on the latest German edition. The book also includes separate subsections that reveal the multifaceted and complex nature of the problematic field of Volume III of "Capital". 

One subsection is dedicated to the memory and work of our remarkable translator of "Capital" and economist N.F. Danielson (1844-1918), who first presented the text of Volume III to the Russian public in 1896. 
The second subsection comprises an extremely little-known text from 1905 by one of the deepest representatives of the then revisionism, Ed. Bernstein (1850-1932). 
The third subsection is composed of the classics of the quantitative interpretation of Volumes I and III of "Capital" – the translation of the original article from 1907 (with its contemporary interpretation) by a prominent representative of the Russian analytical tradition, statistician, and economist of international acclaim V.I. Bortkiewicz (1868-1931). For economists, sociologists, historians of economic thought, graduate students and undergraduates, as well as all those interested in the legacy of the classics of economic science.
