Candy Shoes

On one of the quiet streets of Montmartre Hill, Vianne and her daughters Rosette and Anni found refuge. They live peacefully and even happily in a small apartment above their little chocolate shop. The wind that once constantly forced them... to move from place to place has calmed down – at least for a while. Nothing distinguishes them from the other inhabitants of Montmartre, and no longer do red sachets filled with herbs, warding off evil, hang by their door. But suddenly, their life is invaded by Zozie de l’Alba, a woman in bright red, shiny, candy-like shoes, and everything begins to change rapidly... “Candy Shoes” by Joanne Harris is a new encounter with the characters from the famous novel “Chocolat,” which was brought to life in the eponymous Hollywood film directed by Lasse Hallström (starring Juliette Binoche, Johnny Depp, and Judi Dench), nominated for an Oscar in five categories.
