Investigation in Riga

The action of the novel takes place in 1898. Lykov's friend, the Livonian Yaan Titus, went to Riga for the funeral of his older brother Yazep. And he discovered that his brother had been murdered. The police do not want... to look for the culprits. Yazep Titus was a thief and a hustler; he got killed – that's what he deserved... When Yan begins his own investigation, he is advised to leave the city. Upon learning of this, the outraged Lykov comes to Riga to help his comrade. And they start looking for the murderers on their own. During the investigation, the friends encounter a spy network and face numerous thugs from the outskirts of Riga. In Riga, there is a German dominance, and the Russian detectives have a hard time. The gang war that has begun makes the search even more difficult...
