Notes from the Prison

In 2013, Kurdish-Iranian journalist Behrouz Boochani fled his homeland in search of peace and safety. However, Australia - the land of freedom he longed for - became a prison for him. For almost seven years, Behrouz Boochani was illegally held on Manus Island. The result of this imprisonment is the book before you. In the form of hundreds of text messages typed on a phone, the manuscript crossed many kilometers before reaching its reader. "Notes from the Prison" is not only the story of a refugee who spent several years in detention but something much more - a true philosophical work that combines traditions of Kurdish culture, political art, and dystopian literature.
