A Brief Course in Russian History

The book «A Brief Course in Russian History» is dedicated to the historical development of Russia from ancient times — the settlement of the eastern branch of the Slavs in the future territory of Rus and the establishment of the Russian state — to the beginning of the 20th century — the reign of Nicholas II and the establishment of the State Duma. In it, the scholar analyzes political, economic, and social processes, as well as pays attention to cultural and religious aspects. Vasily Klyuchevsky does not limit his review to written sources only, he actively uses archaeological data, ethnographic materials, and folklore, which makes his research especially valuable, comprehensive, and relevant at any time.
