Torah with haftarot

This edition includes both a new translation of the Pentateuch of Moses and haftarot - fragments from the books of the Prophets that complete the reading of the weekly Torah section in the synagogue and are thematically related to this section. The purpose of the new translation is to offer the reader a literary Russian text of the Bible, semantically as close as possible to the Hebrew original. The translation is in line with the Jewish tradition, focusing not on biblical studies and Hebraic studies, but on Jewish exegesis, primarily on the classical medieval commentary of Rashi.
