History of new philosophy. Spinoza. His life, writings and teachings

This volume of "The History of New Philosophy" by K. Fischer is dedicated to the school of followers of R. Descartes and, in its most extensive part, to Benedict Spinoza (1632-1677). Spinoza, continuing the rationalistic line of Descartes, argued, unlike Descartes, the uniqueness of substance, uniting thought and extension (soul and body) as its attributes. He built a pantheistic picture of the world, which is based on the identification of God and nature. The book reveals the life and creative path of the philosopher, the meaning and content of his teachings.
In addition to Cuno Fischer's text, the publication includes name and subject indexes, a comparative dictionary of Spinoza's Latin terms and their German and Russian equivalents, and, as an appendix, a review of the perception, application and development of the philosopher's ideas in the 17th-21st centuries with an annotated bibliography.
