The novels about Anne Shirley are a classic coming-of-age story filled with ups and downs, sorrows and joys. In 2017, a very heartfelt series titled "Anne" was released, based on the series of novels about Anne.
The 1st book, "Anne of...
Green Gables." When the red-haired Anne Shirley arrives on Prince Edward Island, she is sure that she has finally found the home she has always dreamed of. Anne is an orphan who has never had a childhood, as she worked like an adult in both foster families and orphanages, and no one ever gave her warmth; her life so far has been a "graveyard of hopes." But her new adoptive parents are confused because they requested a boy to help them on the farm in Green Gables. The girl seems strange to them at first, constantly getting into trouble, but over time, Anne's relentless optimism, rich imagination, and kind-heartedness win them over and the residents of Avonlea.
The 2nd book, "Anne of Avonlea." A new chapter begins in Anne's life as she turns 16, full of hopes and plans for the future; it was to be expected from our dreamy acquaintance. Anne intends to work as a teacher, organizes a society for the improvement of the village, and small twins appear in their home, although sad events will also occur.
Several years after arriving on the island, she has gained many friends and earned the love and respect of the Avonlea residents, but confrontations against the ingrained norms of society and traditional views on how a young woman should behave are still unavoidable.
The 3rd book, "Anne of the Island." The third book in the series about Anne Shirley. Anne has worked for two years as a teacher in the local school but is now focused on getting into Redmond University in Kingsport. Most of her childhood friends have settled into their lives; some have moved away, and many have entered family life. And although leaving the island is very difficult, a new stage of life awaits in Nova Scotia, an exciting world filled with adventures with old and new friends, sorrows and romance.
Gilbert Blythe, who has been in love with Anne since childhood, and Priscilla Grant, a childhood friend, have also entered Redmond. And of course, Anne meets new kindred spirits, such as the amusing and candid Philippa Gordon and the mysterious Roy Gardner - the melancholic "beautiful prince."
Anne learns what it means to grow up and who her true love is.
