The Path of a Russian Officer

General Anton Denikin played an important role in the events of the Civil War; he was a close associate of Generals Alexeev and Kornilov, later the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of South Russia. Already in emigration, A.I. Denikin became a talented writer. Among his major works are "Essays on the Russian Troubles" and "The Path of a Russian Officer".
In "The Path of a Russian Officer," Anton Denikin recounts his childhood, youth, and military service. The author views military service as the path of an officer: military school, troop unit, General Staff Academy.
Denikin participated in the Russo-Japanese War and World War I. He meticulously recorded his combat experience and impressions of the war in the pages of his memoirs, but he did not get to finish the description of the last war of the Russian Empire. "The Path of a Russian Officer" was published after the general's death, becoming not only his last but also the most important book of the military leader.
