The mighty and brave Siegfried, the burning and uncontrollable passion of Kriemhild inspired many great creators, such as Richard Wagner in his opera cycle "The Ring of the Nibelung," Arthur Rackham and Nikolai Roerich in a series of paintings, and the motif of the cursed gold (ring) is also extensively present in J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings."
