Sevastopol Strada

Sergey Nikolaevich Sergeev-Tsensky 1875—1958 – Russian and Soviet writer, laureate of the Stalin Prize for the epic novel «Sevastopol Strada». A monumentalist, whom Gorky ranked alongside Tolstoy, Gogol, and Dostoevsky. The epic novel «Sevastopol Strada» is devoted to the events of the Crimean War 1853—1856. But this book is not about war, but about people: about Admiral Nakhimov and Russian sailors, about General Gorchakov and the residents of Sevastopol, who selflessly defended their homeland. Their names and fates were immortalized by Sergeev-Tsensky in his novel.
