This volume includes the famous story "Kings and Cabbage," consisting of adventurous and humorous novellas set in Latin America, as well as two complete author collections: "The Burning Lamp" and "Paths of Destiny." Many stories are presented in new translations. The edition is accompanied by rare illustrations by the remarkable Soviet artist Grigory Philipovsky (1909–1987), as well as drawings from American publications of the first half of the 20th century.
