Poetry of the Golden Age

The Pushkin era — "a quarter century", counted by Pushkin himself from the date of the establishment of the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum (1811), the 1810s—1830s — the "golden age" of Russian poetry. It received its name not for the sake... of rhetoric: the "golden age" was precisely what antiquity called the bygone era of beauty, goodness, and justice, the era of a lost paradise. And indeed, the art of the nineteenth century absorbed the most beautiful and kind, powerful and unique traits of Russian culture. With full justification, the culture of this era can be called the paradise of the Russian soul, lost but being rediscovered in the poems of the poets of the Pushkin era. The collection includes lyrical poems by authors who defined the appearance of the "golden age" of Russian poetry: V. Zhukovsky, K. Batyushkov, D. Davydov, P. Vyazemsky, A. Pushkin, A. Delvig, V. Kyukhelbeker, E. Baratynsky, A. Griboedov, and others.
