The Republic of Uzbekistan is a young state, but its history goes back to deep antiquity. For centuries, this region has been a place of cultural intersection and incredible events. The Great Silk Road passed through here, and Zoroastrianism, Buddhism, and Islam developed. Timur transformed Samarkand into the largest cultural center of the region, where many scholars of that time lived, worked, and toiled.
