In 1997, Eva Foster's daughter, Kelsey, runs away to New Mexico and disappears without a trace. Eva is convinced that she has become a victim of a serial killer who hunts women in that area. Kelsey's body was never found.... Years later, Eva dies, leaving everything to her adopted twin daughters. Connie inherits only a small scholarship and property in New Mexico, while her sister inherits the entire business and estate in Vermont. Their mother was never known for her kindness in life, but even in death, she seems to continue to take revenge on her daughters. Connie arrives in New Mexico and finds only a small dilapidated red house in the desert and a mysterious caretaker, Jett Montgomery. She learns that many women have been killed in this area, but for some reason, everyone is silent about it. Connie tries to get to the truth, unwittingly drawn into the sadistic games of her deceased mother's mind. Will she manage to save herself and the little that remains of her shattered family while the serial killer is already so close?
